Experts in Energy from Rwanda trained in Small Hydropower Technologies

Experts in energy related disciplines have completed a one month long training in Small Hydropower Technologies. The training was organised by The Hangzou Regional Center (Asia-Pacific) for small Hydropower Development (HRC) in cooperation with Energy Development Corporation Limited (EDCL). The training took place from 4th to 28th November 2019 at African Center of Excellence in Energy for Sustainable Development (ACEESD).

The World Bank ACEs Supporting team visited the ACEESD

On 2nd September 2019, a team from the World Bank led by Ruth Karimi Charo from World Bank Kenya, paid a visit to African Center of Excellence in Energy for Sustainable Development (ACEESD). The main objective of the visit was to assess the progress made in the implementation of the African Centers of Excellence Project, key challenges and way forward.

Africa region Vice President of the World Bank Hafez Ganem visited the African Centers of Excellence in Rwanda

The African Centers of Excellences Directors in Rwanda were urged to ensure the gender equality is highly considered in the enrolment of students to postgraduates programs.

The call was made on Friday during the visit of the Vice President of the World Bank for Africa region Honorable Hafez Ganem to centers of excellence in Rwanda

During this visit, Directors of ACEs explained different programs offered in their respective centers, students’ enrolment and key achievements that were registered so far.

Students from African varsities meet at UR-CST (ACEESD) to get hands on skills in power engineering

75 students from various African varsities concluded a week-long training in power engineering organized by the African Centre of Excellence in Energy for Sustainable Development-ACE-ESD at the University of Rwanda-College of Science and Technology. The training generated hands-on skills in many areas including power engineering, Microgrid, Smart grid to mention but a few.
