The Management of the University of Rwanda through its African Centre of Excellence in Energy for Sustainable Development (ACE-ESD) at College of Science and Technology (CST) is offering Masters Programs in Energy for Sustainable Development with the following Awards:
- Master of Science in Renewable Energy
- Master of Science in Electrical Power Systems
- Master of Science in Energy Economics
Admission Criteria
Master of Science in Electrical Power Systems
To be admitted to the MSc. Degree Program in Electrical Power System, applicants must have a Baclelor’s degree with at least a second class, upper division or cumulative average score not less than 70% in any of the fields: Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engi leering. Electro Mechanical Engineering. Renewable Energy Engineering or other related field:;. Bachelor's degree holders in the areas mentioned above with second class, lower division, and at least a 2 Year relevant working experience are eligible to apply. Applicants should demonstrate sufficient ability in English to undertake masters level course works and research.
Master of Science in Renewable Energy
To be admitted to the MSc. Degree Program in Renewable Energy, applicants must have a 2 Bachelor's degree with at least a second class, upper division or cumulative average score not less 1than 70% in any of the fields: Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engir eering, Electro Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or other related fields.
Bachelor's degree holders in the areas mentioned above with second class, lower division, and at least e 2-year relevant working experience are eligible to apply.
Applicants should demonstrate sufficient ability in English to undertake masters-level course works and research.
Master of Science in Energy Economics
To be admitted to the MSc. Degree Program in Energy Economics, applicants must have a Bachelor's degree with at least a second class, upper division or cumulative average score not less than 70% in any of the fields: Bachelor's degree in Economics, accountant, Statistics, Engineering, Agricultural Economics. Quantitative Economics, Finance, or related fields.
Bachelor's degree holders in the areas mentioned above with second-class, lower division, and at least a 2-year relevant working experience are eligible to apply.
Applicants should demonstrate sufficient ability in English to undertake masters-level course works and research.
Duration
The Duration of M.Sc. Renewable Energy is 24 months (Equivalent to four semesters)
The Duration of M.Sc. Electrical Power Systems is 24 months (Equivalent to four semesters)
The Duration of M.Sc. Energy Economics is 24 months (Equivalent to four semesters)
Mode of Attendence
Full-time by Coursework (Courses will be offered in a modular basis) and Dissertation
