Programme Structure

The MSc in Renewable Energy programme consists of 240 credits spread over four semesters (two years). Each semester is 15 weeks long, including 12 weeks of teaching, 1 week for revision, and 2 weeks for examinations.

Transforming Energy Access — Learning Partnership

ACE-ESD offers two mandatory short courses—developed with support from TEA-LP—to build skills for the energy and off-grid sectors. They are open to MSc Renewable Energy students and to energy-sector professionals who meet each course prerequisites.

  • Free of charge for MSc Renewable Energy students (counts toward degree training requirements)
  • Certificate of Training after successful completion of all sessions and assessments
  • Invitation to join the TEA-LP network and off-grid energy access opportunities

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or Renewable Energy Engineering
  • Minimum Second Class, Upper Division; or
  • Second Class, Lower Division with 2 years relevant work experience
  • Sufficient English language proficiency
