Dr Gboney has a PhD in Economics and more than 30 years of professional experience in the energy sector in Africa. His experience in energy covers policy and regulation, regulatory economics, energy economics, and providing capacity building to national regulatory authorities. He also possesses specialist skills in financial modelling, tariff modelling, and econometric modelling for tariff calculations covering the Generation, Transmission and Distribution segments in the electricity sector. He also possesses the skills and expertise in carrying out economic and financial analysis of the performance as well as carrying out analysis of power utilities’ operations.
