She has keen interest in the exploration of physical and chemical means to control the electronic and optical properties of materials. Using appropriate materials and devices, solar energy can be collected, converted and storedsuch that lifeoff-grid with photovoltaics (PV) and artificial photosynthesis (AP) is easy and accessible. In her PhD, she developed UV detectors for missile plumes detection, using GaN and AlGaN. This work produced a commercial UV camera based on AlGaN Schottky barrierdiodes.
