Prof. Sverker Molander
ISAB member

Sverker Molander develops and applies different systems approaches in his research on human-induced environmental change and its mitigation. He is particularly involved in studies related to risks from nanoparticles and chemicals and research on energy systems based on renewable sources. The methods applied are assessments of ecological/environmental risks and substance/material flows often with a product chain/life-cycle perspective and a focus on emissions and exposure models. The identification of indicators and indicator systems covering environment and sustainability is a recurrent theme in his research. Current research also includes interdisciplinary collaboration with social scientists regarding risk, means of control, and our perception of "scarcity".

Education

Professor with a Chair in Environmental Systems and Risk, Div Environmental Systems Analysis, Technology Management and Economics

Sverker is leading Mistra Environmental Nanosafety, and is coordinator for a sub-program in SIDAs bilateral support to the Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, in Mozambique. He is also a board member of the Norwegian Research Council's program Nano2021, a member of SETAC's Global Science Committee, and a scientific reviewer for the Kamprad Family Foundation
